
Residence hall staff will confiscate and dispose of any alcohol and/or alcohol paraphernalia found in the possession of residents or their guests. Shot glasses, champagne flutes and flasks may be used only for decorative purposes however, they will be confiscated along with any other items, regardless of these items’ original purposes, if used for the storage or consumption of alcohol. Examples include, but are not limited to, wine bottles, beer-pong tables and beer bongs. Possession of alcohol paraphernalia (items used for the storage or consumption of alcoholic substances), including decorated or decorative alcohol containers of any kind (except those specifically listed below), is prohibited in the residence halls. Public intoxication, disorderly conduct or vandalism due to alcohol use is not permitted on University-owned or -operated property. Students and their guests are not permitted to consume, manufacture, use, possess, sell or distribute alcohol in or on the premises of University-owned or -operated residential or dining locations (including common areas, such as The RISE pool), regardless of their age. Participants in the planning or execution of pranks will be subject to conduct action, and students may be charged for any damages. Pranks or practical jokes that change the appearance of the halls or living areas or that create a disruption for residents and/or staff are strictly prohibited. This includes activities that are excessively noisy or otherwise disruptive to other residents. Residents should not engage in disruptive or disorderly conduct or lewd, indecent or obscene conduct or expression. All residents and their guests must carry their TigerCard or photo ID at all times, or they may be treated as trespassers by Residential Life, property management/security staff or by MUPD. Residents are responsible for the behavior and actions of their guests. Mizzou at The RISE - Residents must accompany guests on complex property at all times. A resident’s right to privacy takes precedence over the privilege of having overnight guests. Room-/suitemates are expected to respect each other’s reasonable requests for privacy and must have permission from their room-/suitemate(s) before hosting a guest overnight.

Only the person with a current Residential Life contract for a particular space should be living in that space. Guests (including children) may not stay for an extended (more than two days) or frequent basis. Residents must meet their guests at the exterior door to let them into the hall and must accompany their guests throughout the hall at all times.ĭo not allow anyone else to use your room key or TigerCard. Residents are responsible for their guests’ actions and behavior. Residents will use their TigerCards to enter their hall’s residential living area. Guests and Visitationĭoors to residential living areas are locked at all times. Student Conduct ProcessĪll issues will be referred to the Office of Student Accountability and Support, as well as any other appropriate campus office. The student recognizes that MU cannot control nor prevent emergencies, pandemics and other acts of God. If a student observes any policy violation while in a residence hall, the student should immediately notify hall staff.Īny student is responsible for the behavior and objects in a room or common space where a policy violation has occurred if they are in the space, regardless of their level of participation. If a student or guest violates established policy in a University-owned or –operated property or violates other student conduct standards, the student is subject to conduct action. Students are responsible for their own behavior and that of their guests. If something is different at Mizzou at The RISE, it will be indicated toward the end of the policy.įailure to abide by University and departmental policies may result in disciplinary action, per the Collected Rules and Regulations 200.020: Rules of Procedures in Student Conduct Matters. Residents of all residence halls (including Mizzou at The RISE) agree to follow all Residential Life rules and regulations as stated in the Housing Contract. Residents are also expected to bring these concerns to the attention of the hall staff. Residents are expected to identify and resolve issues that affect them, their room/suitemate(s) and/or the community. Students living in Residential Life-owned or -operated facilities must follow behavioral standards needed to maintain a suitable community living environment for all residents.
